WHO IS MCBESS
mcbess is a multidisciplinary artist and co-founder of The Dudes, originally from Cannes in the south of France. Now based in London, he continues to develop his practice across illustration, animation and music.
His visual work draws on early animation such as Fleischer Studios — reinterpreted through a contemporary lens of graphic forms, iconography and typography. Music and food culture play a central role in his creative output, shaping surreal, character-driven worlds that balance dark humour with a distinctly playful sense of nihilism.
Through The Dudes, mcbess brings his artwork into the context of premium streetwear, producing small-batch collections of t-shirts, hoodies, jackets and accessories. The Dudes places equal importance on design, comfort, construction quality and considered detailing.
The Dudes also serves as a platform for mcbess’ art beyond clothing, offering screen prints in formats ranging from A3 to large-scale limited editions, all produced on high-grade Fedrigoni paper.
In parallel, mcbess operates Dirty Melody Records, where he releases music under the name mcbaise. These releases often take the form of limited edition vinyl, distributed to listeners and collectors in the UK and internationally.

Founded in 2010, Berlin-based label The Dudes began working with mcbess to translate his illustrations into clothing designed to be worn, not just displayed. Built on a shared appreciation for life's simple pleasures, the collaboration has developed into a long-running creative partnership.
